2025 Winter Release

 2025 Winter Release

Our Winter Release showcases wines grown beyond our coastal home in Green Valley; vineyards that bring a broader expression of richness and depth while maintaining DuMOL’s hallmark balance and restraint. These wines are a study in contrast: distinct sites across Napa and Sonoma, all united by the same precision and finesse that define our style.

We save this collection for later in the year because the wines carry a different energy: more warmth and generosity, but still with the distinct freshness found across all DuMOL wines. If the Fall Release reflects our coastal heart, the Winter Release reveals our inland soul.

00:03 | Harvest & Vintage Overview

  • 2025 Harvest: Began August 26 and ended October 10 — a long, steady, excellent harvest.
  • 2023 Vintage: Described as one of the finest in Andy’s 32-year career—balanced, cool, and ideal for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
  • Cool growing season with minimal heat spikes and timely rain.
  • Exceptional quality across all varieties; likened to 2013 and 2018.
  • 2024 Vintage: Approachable and balanced; slightly lower acidity than 2023, very drinkable early.
  • 2025 Vintage: Completed recently; early impressions are strong.

  • Cool-climate Syrah with velvety texture, blue and black fruits, pepper notes.

40:40 | 2023 Meteor Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Coombsville, Napa Valley)

  • Elegant, Bordeaux-style Cabernet made with “Pinot Noir sensitivity.”
  • Floral, violet, black olive, and graphite notes; supple tannins.

Tasting & Aging Notes

  • 2023 wines are drinking beautifully young but will age 10–15 years.
  • Recommended to enjoy bottles over 2–3 nights to see evolution.
  • 2021s: Structured, long-aging.
  • 2022s: Fruit-forward, open early.
  • 2023s: Balanced between both—approachable and age-worthy.

DuMOL's Winegrowing Philosophy

  • Focus on vineyard expression and gentle winemaking (“Pinot Noir sensibility” across varieties).
  • Consistent small-lot, site-specific production.
  • Aim to overdeliver on quality vs. price for long-term relationships with Members.
