Fall Release Bressay Estate Vineyard Chardonnay
2022

Winemaker’s Notes

Our Bressay Estate Chardonnay is grown in a small isolated 1.5-acre organically farmed hillside parcel that’s surrounded by the coastal forest. It’s one of the most distinctive vineyard blocks in our entire portfolio and among our most limited bottlings – between 12 and 14 barrels each year. These high-density vines planted on red sandy soils produce a wine that balances intense citrus and botanical aromas and flavors with driving mineral acidity. In 2022 the crop was particularly light, so there’s significant density to the wine. The foggy mild coastal location ensures that all the micro nuances of this special place are fully captured. Truly unique and highest quality.

The wine’s aromas and flavors are akin to white flowers, lime, apricot, and sea spray. There’s crystalized ginger and fresh mint intensity with sage-like herbal notes. It shows a perfect balance between power and freshness with a chewy texture and rising energetic mineral-drenched finish. The wine’s acidity will allow it to age for eight years from vintage. Serve no cooler than 55º F.
