Fall Release Bressay Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir
2022

Winemaker’s Notes

The mid-slope of a hillside vineyard – where the soils balance effective water drainage with a healthy level of organic matter – typically provide the most complete and expressive wines. We’ve isolated the true mid-slope of our Bressay Estate for this magical bottling – a strong favorite among the winegrowing team. The vines are organically farmed and planted to our special high-density format: 3,630 vines per acre rather than the usual 1,250. We only ask each vine to ripen fifteen full-flavored clusters. We further build complexity by fermenting with 40% whole clusters, which brings out orange zest aromas, enhances wine texture, and adds spicy finishing notes. This is among our most supple wines, with a mesmerizing spectrum of aromas and flavors and always a wine of the vintage candidate.

Soaring aromatic complexity with aromas and flavors akin to orange zest, lilac, anise, and fennel. The fruits span the full red-blue-black berry spectrum. The wine’s texture is supple, lively, and broad and deepens without losing its gentle delicacy. The tannins are extremely fine and shape the wine beautifully. The wine finishes long, pure, and exotic, with a myriad of spicy/floral nuances. Drink between 2025 and 2032.
