Special Release Bressay Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir
2024
Winemaker’s Notes
A strong contender for wine of the vintage, this is one of our most characterful and detailed wines each season. This 2.5-acre mid-slope parcel produces twelve to eighteen barrels per year, and in 2024 we chose to bottle the most expressive thirteen, blending the remaining four to Highland Divide. This ensures only the best-of-the-best - the most distinctive - reach the bottle. We used 33% whole clusters in this fermentation to focus the wine’s complex aromatic and flavor profile, adding savory spice and woodsy/underbrushy tones to the wine's natural fruit purity. The result is a deeply elegant, nuanced wine that’s both sleek and succulent, and can age for many years developing even greater complexity along the way. Distinctive and spectacular.
Juicy cranberry and red cherry notes are offset by darker fruit tones. Mint, fennel seed and wintergreen elements add savory detail. The wine is supple and gently layered, long and graceful with a lilting enveloping texture. Rising rose petal and kirsch notes combine on the vibrant finish.
