Fall Release Finn Pinot Noir
2015
Winemaker’s Notes
Constantly evolving aromatics reveal rose petals, wintergreen, sassafras, and cedar among waves of ripe red, blue, and black fruits. Natural density on the palate contributes verve, precision, and focus to the layered, enveloping flavors. Lilac, Asian spice, truffle, and blackcurrant unfold with a deft balance between lively acidity and broad tannin. The chewy mid-palate is deeply-textured yet poised and dynamic. Pine needle freshness and tobacco leaf complexity on the long resonating finish — just beautiful.
Our new Finn Pinot Noir release is a wine with just a shade of extra natural concentration over its stablemates. It ranks among the most complex Pinot Noirs we have ever bottled and is a standout wine in the sixteen-year tradition of this bottling. In contrast to the delicious 2014 vintage, this release is slightly less fruit-driven and a touch more savory, offering wonderful, detailed complexity. It's a wine of glorious purity and deep fruity extract.
There’s an overriding sense of poise to the wine: it’s focused, precise, and detailed with a tangy mineral freshness that props it upright, extending palate length and balancing all the natural richness. Definitely one for the ages!
