Spring Release Highland Divide Pinot Noir
2023
Winemaker’s Notes
The new vintage of Highland Divide Pinot Noir is the top overachiever and value in our entire portfolio—but that’s no surprise given its vineyard origins. Blended from three of our contiguous organically farmed high density estate parcels, the wine is full of pedigree. And in a vintage that surpasses pretty much any other, this is the place to look for a compelling world class wine at a palatable price. The three vineyards each bring site-specific diverse elements to the wine, be it the deep richness of DuMOL Estate—our original planting, the cool intensity of MacIntyre, or the floral/spice fireworks of Bressay. The wine can be opened on release for its youthful intensity but will age positively in bottle for twelve years and is already performing at a single vineyard quality level.
Seamless aromatic complexity: inky dark fruits, fragrant herbs, Asian spices, orange bitters, and pine needle. The wine’s entry is crunchy and intense with a strong sense of tiny dark berries supported by hibiscus and bergamot tea notes. Silky rich layers of texture unfold with a complex woodsy edge. Elegant round tannins and fresh acidity lift the finish bringing energy and pinpoint focus. Drink between 2025 and 2037.
