Spring Release Wild Mountainside Syrah
2024

Winemaker’s Notes

Rivals 2021 for the finest vintage of our perennial DuMOL-insider favorite. Compare this in quality, personality, and sheer deliciousness to a range of $100 Napa Cabernets, and I’ll wager there’s only one winner. Bright and vibrant enough to pair with spicy BBQ, and deep and rich enough to accompany the richest winter stew; the wine is incredibly versatile. Its wild exotic aromas and deep pastille-like core of brambly, spicy fruit push the wine into irresistible territory. Decanting or drinking over two nights is highly recommended. I’ll be enjoying this bottling for years to come.

Heady aromas and deep flavors akin to violets, white and black pepper, dried Provencal herbs, blackberry liqueur, Kalamata olive, and mocha. Sleek and focused then generous and layered, the wine’s inky dark fruit core is offset by cool-climate freshness and medium-bodied, supple tannins. A finish of licorice and sweet tobacco brings even greater complexity.
